GOAL SETTING

We provide training and guidance to help you set and reach your goals.

MENTORING

Our seasoned officials work side by side with new officials to make learning and applying volleyball rules as easy and fun as possible.

PASSION

Our officials love volleyball and are passionate about keeping the sport fun and fair for the players, coaches and fans.

1.  Register with TSSAA

The first step is to register as a high school volleyball official with TSSAA. There is plenty of information on the TSSAA website. Here is a great place to start: Get Started as an Official Be sure to choose KVOA during the registration process.

2.  Learn the Rules

​

Study the RULES and CASE books that TSSAA sends you. Use the Contact Us form below to send us any questions for the Training Officer.  Rules publications are available as a free download from NFHS.org.

3.  Participate in Playdays

​

Playdays are an excellent way to practice and hone your skills. Seasoned officials will be there to provide support and coaching as you referee in a relaxed atmosphere.  Check out the Schedule page for the full schedule of Playdays and Tournaments.

4.  Attend local meetings

​

Local meetings provide education and training to further develop both new and veteran officials.  Check out the Schedule page for the full meeting schedule.

About Us

The Knoxville Volleyball Officials Association (KVOA) provides volleyball officials for middle school, high school and private schools in East Tennessee. The counties specifically covered by KVOA are Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Sevier and Union. The organization conducts periodic business meetings and provides training for new and veteran officials. If you are interested in becoming an official please contact us.
